Missionary
Topic:You are my witnesses(Acts1:8)
Speaker:Rev. Joseph Wong
Rev. Joseph Wong was born in Malaysia, and he used to preach the gospel and establish churches among black Africans for 11 years and half. Since 2014, he has returned to universal missions and teamed up with the SIM team, focused on promoting the “two 1.3 billion” ministries, mobilizing the churches among the 1.3 billion Chinese, providing training, and discussing together about the strategies of Muslim missionary。
Rev. Wong is very burdened to promote Chinese churches to participate in universal missions and Muslim ministry. In the 1980s, he did mission works in different cultures locally, pioneered the establishment of churches, and went to Niger with his family in the early 1990s. Evangelize black people and Muslims and establish churches.
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
Church Missions
Mission's Vision
Mission is the will of God, the commission God has given to the church, and it is also the commission of every believer. The purpose of the church’s existence is to be sent and established for missions. Therefore, through prayer, the whole church strives to spread the gospel locally and remotely, so that brothers and sisters become disciples, and send missionaries to the workshops to financially support missionaries or missions/gospel organizations.
Mission's Strategies
We must use God’s word as the foundation to spread the truth of the gospel, so that people understand the sin nature of people and the necessity of repentance, and are willing to return to Christ and be blessed with salvation. We must also obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit and not rely on human wisdom and methods, because everything is the work of the Lord, and we are the vessels in His hands and used by the Lord. Witness to the Lord and give glory to God.
Mission's principle
- We are convinced that missions should first be based on the Bible and the theological teachings based on the Bible.
- We are convinced that the gospel is about the work that God has done for sinners. He makes sinners live with Christ. It is also about the restoration of all things in the future, and all creation is hoping to be released from the fall.
- Every brother and sister in mission ministry should have the basic mission equipment, truly understand the connotation of mission, truly receive the great commission given to us by Jesus Christ, and have a call from God.
- Local missions and distance missions drive each other and inspire each other. In other words, the fire of short-term missions brings back local missions and helps local missions expand; local missions can help remote missions train missionary disciples.
- Whether it is local missions or remote missions, it is bound to extend and expand the church.
Mission's Implementation
- Promotion of missions: through the mission committee plan, discuss, suggest elder-deacon board implement promotion, and teach the congregation.
- Local missions: Organize local missions based on the vision, strategies and principles of church missions. If you need church financial support, it must be reviewed by the mission committee.
- Distance missions: Approved by the mission committee, financial support is given by the church, and promoted within the church, encouraging the participation of brothers and sisters who have believed in the Lord for more than two years.
- Support for missionaries and mission organizations: The mission committee will review each year to determine which missionaries and organizations should be supported. And assigned to each Fellowship to be responsible for contact to them and pryers.
- Coordination and integration of the Chinese and English Congregations: The Church Mission Committee is composed of co-workers from the Chinese Congregation and the English Congregation to discuss the cooperation and coordination of the Church’s Chinese and English Congregations in missions.
- Missions Annual Meeting: Hold an annual missions meeting. Through mission message, we can better understand the great mission of missions given to us by the Lord and inspire the enthusiasm of brothers and sisters in missions.
- Revise mission policies and regulations: According to the needs of the church and the feedback from brothers and sisters on mission, the mission committee should make appropriate changes to make mission policies and regulations more in line with God’s will for mission in the Bible and better keep up with global missions pace.
- Co-workers meeting: The mission committee regularly holds a meeting to discuss the mission of the church.

Missionaries and mission organizations supported by the church
As a mission-oriented church, you must not only organize and participate in mission work yourself, but also support missionaries and mission organizations in many ways. Mission is an extension of the church’s ministry. By sending and caring missionaries and organizations, the church will also use missionaries to preach the gospel to people far away. Every missionary or organization needs the church’s support in prayer and money, and our church will also encourage the development of the church’s gospel through the achievements and experience of the mission’s and organization’s gospel ministry.
In recent years, the church has supported 40 missionaries and mission organizations all over the world. They often passed on their prayer letters and asked the church to pray for them, and once a year, they reported the results of their ministry and some of the problems they are facing in the form of letters. The church has a very close relationship with missionaries and mission organizations.
